Requesting an Investigation / Consultation
After you email us regarding a possible investigation, we
will reply to you either by email or phone. A pre-investigation
interview will take place, usually by phone or in person, and we will
ask questions to establish the circumstances and seriousness of your
case. If you feel you may like an investigation, it is important to
keep a log of the events that you notice. The log should include the
date and time the event occurred, what occurred, who witnessed it, and
any other pertinent information. We will review this with you at the
interview. At the conclusion of the interview, we may set up a date
and time to conduct our investigation, or we may take some time to do
some research into the background of your location or additional
interviews with witness first. If you have an immediate need for
answers or assistance, we will perform our investigation as quickly as
possible for you.
What
Happens Next?
When we arrive at your home and after the introductions
are finished, we will select a “base” area, usually in the area of the
house that has shown the least activity. We will then ask for a
“walk-through” of your location. Walk-throughs will be done by the Lead
Investigator and one other team member. If technical equipment set-up
is going to be used, we may include a technical member of our team as
well. We may wish to record this walk-through, either by video or audio
for future reference. The walk-through consists of basic orientation
and questions - and you may refuse to answer any question at any time,
but as a note, the more thorough you are in your explanations, the
better our investigations can be, and that provides for the most honest
and accurate results. We will then determine what rooms seem to be most
active and where the equipment and investigation will be best situated.
How
Long Does an Investigation Take?
This depends on a number of factors: Size of the
location, number of investigators, access to the location, etc.. Each
case will be different based on the needs of the client and the size of
the case. Estimates will be given to you during our initial
pre-investigation interview phase.
After the clinical investigation is complete, evidence
will be reviewed and evaluated to rule out natural causes for any
occurrences. We will review numerous photos and hours of video
evidence, looking for anything out of the ordinary and keep logs of
those visual accounts. We also listen to hours of audio recordings for
any type of unusual sounds or voices. This is the longest process of the
investigation. This may take up to 7-10 days, depending on the amount
of evidence collected and the research involved.
Upon completion of our evidence review, you will be
contacted to inform you of any findings. In some instances it might be
necessary to request follow up visits. It's possible that on our first
visit no data will be collected for various reasons and other times
activity will be such that ongoing research will be warranted. Any
follow-ups are at the client’s discretion. You are under no obligation.
What We Ask Of
You:
· -
IF POSSIBLE, finding a babysitter for any very young children would be
best during our investigation time. Strangers showing up at their home
with equipment and talking about/looking for ghosts may upset and
confuse them, especially if the subject has not been discussed with
them.
- We understand the excitement surrounding a paranormal
investigation. We ask that only the occupants or persons who have
experience phenomenon be present. Our equipment is extremely sensitive
and any crowding, excessive talking, or other noise can ruin the results
of the investigation, thus being a waste of time for you and our
investigators.
- All dogs with a history of being aggressive (or even
if you are unsure on how they will react to the investigators) must be
restrained or crated during the investigation. We do appreciate you
inviting us into your home, but safety is our number 1 priority, for all
involved.
- We believe that what people do in their own homes is
their business, but we will not, under any circumstance, remain at an
investigation location where anyone is intoxicated or under the
influence of illegal drugs, or there is evidence of illegal or improper
activities.
- We also ask that you inform/have consent of all adults
living in the household regarding the investigation. We do not want to
be investigating a location and have an “uninformed by you”, very angry
family member arrive home to find “unwelcome GUESTS” (us). It would make
a very uncomfortable situation for all involved.
- We will NOT investigate a location where Black
Magic-the Black Arts or Satanism is being practiced. If we find evidence
of this at any location, we will end the investigation and leave
immediately.
All activity between our clients and Appleton Paranormal
Investigations will be treated as confidential. We may post
photographs and / or audio evidence on our website,
but nothing that would identify the actual location of our investigation
if it is a private home / business.
Other examples of what we may display, with your
permission,
would be letters ( anonymous if requested ) stating paranormal
circumstances, submitted stories,
photographs, etc. Your identity will never be displayed on our site,
ever.
