A few examples of photographic "evidence" to be wary of

Sometimes, investigators will see objects or items in photographs they've taken
that raise their suspicions and hopes that they've found something paranormal.

It is very important to remain objective and skeptical when reviewing evidence,
and not simply jump to the conclusion that something 'strange' is a ghost.

Most times, this evidence is easily explainable through natural occurring phenomena.
Dust, moisture, insects and dirty lenses can make you see things on film
that are odd and out of place.

Use caution and try to find corroboration through EMF or temperature readings, EVPs
or other methods.

This photograph, taken at the site of the St. Valentine’s Day massacre in Chicago contains a visible ‘orb’ in the lower-central portion of the frame.

Most likely, this is simply dust

This photo was taken looking over a concrete
railing towards the Chicago River at the
site of the Eastland Disaster of 1915.

Again, you can see a number of orbs, which
most likely are either dust or moisture in the
air.

What is unexplained is the bright white streak
of light on the left side of the frame.
There was nothing to my left which would have
reflected the flash in this manner.

Here's a good example of temporary
overzealousness - when taking this picture, I noticed the large orb on the black door.
I moved to a point right in front of the door and was suddenly enveloped in a pocket of cooler air.
Had I found corroborating evidence to back up
the orb I captured on film?????

Uh - no - imagine my let down when I looked up
above the door only to see - a ventilation duct.

A good lesson in how a natural circumstance
( air ventilation duct ) can potentially give a
false sense of discovery.

Taken in the courtyard of "Hull House" on
the University of Illinois - Chicago campus,
there are two notable items in this photograph.

First - the orb just right of center - which
is most likely dust of some sort.

Secondly - on the right 1/3 of the picture
you will see a faint white "mist".

This is an unexplained phenomena.  There
was no mist visible to the human eye and
no one was smoking anywhere in the vicinity.
